This Android Tutorial shows how to perform dependency injection in Android with butterknife. Annotate fields with @Bind and a view ID for Butter Knife to find and automatically cast the corresponding view in your layout. Bind pre-defined resources with @BindBool, @BindColor, @BindDimen, @BindDrawable, @BindInt, @BindString, which binds an R.bool ID (or your specified type) to its corresponding field. You can group multiple views into a List or array. An Android Property can also be used with the apply method.add a @Nullable annotation to the field or method.

  1. Sorry I think I'm missing something here but then I'm only working on a small app with not many findviewbyIds. Anyway, what is the advantage of using butterknife? Prior to butterknife you used findviewid but what is the problem with that? Is it just an aesthetic issue? Or is there also a performance boost when you use @inject or @bind? Thanks for the video.

  2. Seeing a video or two is great for learning purposes, but what about an entire series that lets you design and code a complete Android app from scratch on paper to playstore, check out my first full series which covers recycler views, dividers, fragments, services, hacking apks, databases, realm, image loading techniques, image scaling, swipe to delete, sectioning recycler views, custom widgets and views and MUCH MORE right here http://goo.gl/m3czB1
