  2. Why don't manufacturers give a fuck about processors? Surely they know that that is what makes higher resolutions and better framerates. If only those big brands would innovate…

  3. My small motorcycle has better acceleration than my truck, and my microwave oven heats up food 10 times faster than a professional stake house stove. Having said that, the photo camera design is still copying the first Leica (a rectangular box), thus it's not even comfy to shoot video, and the vast majority of cameras are highly photo-centric. Some of the highest grade and most expensive photographic cameras have no video at all.

  4. Some confusion/contradictions in this video . Do digital cameras create their image processors by deriving cores from companies like ARM ?

  5. Thank you for your brilliant information, very well explained. The Samsung nx1 was number one on my wish list, but sadly can not be found anyone.

  6. I think the issue has less to do with raw processing power available, and more to do with Sony and Canon having a lineup of expensive cinema/video camcorders to sell. It is not as problematic to put a snapdragon into a a7 and make it record uncropped 4k 120fps as to sell then your 3000$ PXWZ to people who could ask "why does it not take calls".

  7. It's a shame Samsung pulled out from cameras. I know a lot of people that filmed with the NX1. I have my eye on a few kits on ebay.

  8. Please Don't believe the BS the processig power of Apple.

if it's processor was REALLY so powerful they wouldn't be using Intel in their Laptops.

The iPhoen was terrible resolutions and a lot of apps and hardware is not doing anything. The Exynos 8895 btw is Rated at 4k at 120fps. Check their website for the details.

  9. I know there is always bottlenecks in this idea, but I'd love to see if there is a way to use the processing power and share it across to and from the iphone back to the computer/imac etc. just to prolong the life and lessen the cost of having to upgrade every few years.

  10. Cool video! I’ve been wondering for some time. So is it the combination of having higher processing power with much smaller sensors?

  11. Probably the GH5 cold do 1080p 240fps with more line skipping but they choose to not do it cause it looks like crap. For smartphones people will be less scrutinizing.

  12. What I'd like to see are checking out the manual controls. Especially if you can select manually the shutter speed and take a photo for the white balance, rather that just presets. Basically comparing it against a basic DSLR in terms of what you can and cannot do.

  13. Hi, I currently shoot 4k, 3k 2k at 24fps on my iPhone 7 Plus, and I can shoot 1080p at 120fps and 720p at 240fps. However I do also use the Filmic Pro App which really works well on the iPhone. I couldn't do that on my Canon, but I now have the Panasonic GH5 that covers all this.

  14. What's the size of the sensor. You can shoot 4k on a small sensor and it will look worst than 1080 on the same sensor.

  15. The simplest answer is that you are a fool speaking about stuff you don't understand. Tiny compacts costing a fraction of a DSLR have enough processing power to shoot 4K and run IBIS and in some cases film simulation at the same time. The idea that a processor that Panasonic can afford to put in an LX100 – half of the cost of which is probably the fast zoom, and the next biggest cost will be the sensor – is too expensive for the 5Div requires deep idiocy.

  16. This question might be out of this video topic. Besides fps capability, here are some question.

Why is there no any laser autofocus in expensive DSLR/ Mirrorless Cameras?

What is the main reason behind GH5 autofocus issues, hardware or software? And what makes Canon best for Autofocus.

Can you make Autofocus test of GH5 with latest 2.0 firmware.

  17. Am I incorrect at saying the Sony RX100 V can record almost TRUE 1080 240fps as opposed to Apple's usual (upsampled) footage. If they've improved it I'll be very impressed however. Also the Sony Xperia XZ Premium can shoot 1000fps (albeit for a fraction of a second.)

  18. Totally agree with you. I shot a short film with the Smasung NX-1. The image quality was very good, the autofocus excellent, the EVF was remarkable, big, well designed. The only problem was the video format which was the H265 that had to be converted to H264 for use in editing software.

  19. Consumer cameras (iphone, gopro, etc) do rely only on cpu processing power whereas pro cameras do have specific circuits know as embedded systems for each image process. But even though the iphone really packs a powerful processor, it will never be more powerful than a pro camera because his "powerful processor" has the brute force to do many things at the same time whereas the pro camera has specific circuits designed to do just ONE thing very fast and very good. On the other hand, we also have to take into consideration that apple camera research and development budge is probably more than Sony, Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Panasonic alltogether…

  20. I wish they made modular cameras, where you could upgrade things like cpu, sensor etc. And had a "proper" OS so you could download better firmware updates and functionality.

  21. even the iphone is more powerful than the macbook, its still not as flexible as macbook pro in terms of functionality and flexibility at the end laptop is a laptop and phone is just a phone and each things has their own and phone will never be the same as the laptop

  22. I wonder if new iphone8/x can do Bokeh processing too at 4K60. Smartphone dual cameras have only done bokeh for photos thus far. If you can get "fake bokeh" effect when shooting 4k60 H265 on new smartphones like the iphone8/x, and with reliable autofocus, and on future follow-up to Snapdragon 835 and MediaTek X30, that might get interesting for smartphone video shooting. But as long as video shooting on smartphones create a flat image with no bokeh, I think the perceived quality of a camcorder from the 1990ies is better or similar to what you see when you are shooting video on a smartphone still today. And yes please Sony A6700 hopefully does 4K60 HDR HLG with no overheating with H265 codec option at half bitrate, A9-style new battery life, dual SD card slots, swivel bright LCD and more.. I am going to IBC tomorrow so I can interview Sony and Canon about their new camcorders, sadly the new Sony AX700 is not 4K60 still only 4K30 but it can do it with HDR HLG. And the new Canon GX10 can do 4K60 but not with HDR HLG.

  23. shame samsung never made a nx2 shooting 4k60p with an ef mount……….. I think the samsung mount is what killed the camera (the h.265 and price didn't help either). with sony you could use an electronic adapter to ef, with Samsung there where only ever passive adapters to ef

  24. samsung cam and the iphone do h265 codec bruh how you not gunna mention that, because it is considerable factor as to the frame rates they can push
